A wonderful event at Auckland Museum, Tāmaki Paenga Hira, to celebrate the launch of Ngā Kupu Wero—an anthology of Māori non-fiction, edited by Witi Ihimaera and published by Penguin New Zealand. I have a story in the anthology about a man who knocked on my door one day; a man whom I was unsure was dangerous or needed my help. The story is called ‘Rārangi Pūtahi’, which means ‘intersecting lines’.
The event was hosted by kaumatua Vaughan Rapatahana and it was a highlight to spend time with him. He edited the sister volume of fictional writing, Te Awa o Kupu.
